Steve Cook has told the Daily Echo that he has no intention of leaving Bournemouth amid talk of Premier League interest in his services.
According to the Daily Mail, the highly-rated defender has drawn admiring glances from a number of top-flight clubs, including Burnley and West Bromwich Albion.
Cook, who only committed to a new three-year contract with his current employers last summer, is aware of the mounting transfer talk.
He is, however, playing little attention to it and claims his focus remains locked on Bournemouth’s efforts to secure automatic promotion out of the Championship.
Cook told the Daily Echo: “I’m a Bournemouth player and I would have thought I’d be here for a long time. Unless I get told differently, I won’t have any other opinion on that.
“It’s always nice to hear speculation so it’s a positive in that way but I have a job to do with this club. I will try not to pay too much attention to it.
“I won’t be getting carried away with all the speculation because we have a job to do and that’s Rotherham away at the weekend.
“I want to get back to winning ways with Bournemouth and, hopefully, make the step up to the Premier League with them. The main person I want to impress is the manager here, so as long as I do that, I will be pleased.”

Cook has spent his entire career to date on the South Coast, having graduated out of the academy ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion before linking up with Bournemouth in 2012.
He had previously spent time on loan with the club, with his efforts during that spell convincing the Cherries to make a permanent approach.
The 23-year-old has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the club and is a reassuring presence at the heart of Eddie Howe’s back four.
