Report: Stuart Pearce fears he could go the way of Billy Davies

The Nottingham Forest boss reportedly fears the sack if he loses to Derby.

Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce is braced for the sack if he loses to Derby County this Saturday, according to the Daily Mirror.

Forest have been in a dire run of form under Pearce and the manager reportedly fears for his own future heading into this weekend's crunch clash with his side's bitter rivals.

Billy Davies, of course, was sacked as Nottingham Forest boss last March after losing 5-0 to Derby and, should Pearce be sacked if he loses to County, it will provide an ironic twist of fate.

The Mirror's report states that patience with the Forest boss is running thin from owner Fawaz Al Hasawi, with the relationship between owner and coach said to be under strain.

Derby have won their last three Championship games on the bounce going into Saturday's early kick-off against Nottingham Forest and sit second in the table on 48 points.

Steve McClaren's men, however, are only second on goal difference and face a Forest side 13th in the standings that have - rather symmetrically - lost their last three league games on the bounce.
