The Portuguese attacker is apparently wanted in Turkey.
The Portuguese attacker of course remains a club hero because of the goal he scored against Blackpool in the Championship play-off final a couple of seasons back. However this season he cannot buy a game for West Ham.
Injuries and an influx of new personnel has seen his playing time dwindle in the past 18 months and this season he has featured just four times in the Premier League.
But the report claims that Akhisar, who until now you might well have never heard of, are ready to bring him in, following on their recent acquisition of Yigit Gokoglan from Galatasaray.
Akhisar have some recognisable names among their ranks. Former Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora, ex-Reading and Stoke City defender Ibrahima Sonko and Greek international Theofanis Gekas spring to mind. But none more so than their manager, Roberto Carlos.
The former Brazil left-back, who played 125 times for Selecao, took over as manager of the team at the start of the month and is moving to bring in reinforcements for the second half of the Turkish season. Akhisar currently sit 11th in the Turkish Super Lig, but are just three points off of relegation after a winless streak stretching back to the start of December.
The report claims that the Turkish side would offer Vaz Te a six-month contract until the end of the season.
