The Liverpool Echo has reported that Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is determined to stay and fight for his place at the club.
The Spaniard has struggled for regular game time this season, making just three Premier League appearances in total, partly due to injury and partly due to the arrival of Alberto Moreno from Sevilla last summer.
The paper claims that the option of a move to Crystal Palace is available for the Spaniard, where he’d arguably have a much better chance of first team football.
However, it’s admirable that he seems likely to stay and compete for a position at Anfield.
It shows a real fight and determination, which hasn’t always been evident from some Liverpool players so far this season.
He should also get a chance from manager Brendan Rodgers because the fixtures pile up quickly for Liverpool; they have five games left to play before the end of January.
When the chance comes, he needs to make the most of it.
