Hull are reportedly interested in the Blackburn striker.
The Tigers have turned their attentions to the 26-year-old target man as alternative target Jermain Defoe looks set to move to Sunderland, the Mail claim.
Also a target for Steve Bruce's Hull side is Sunderland's Steven Fletcher, with the Black Cats perhaps willing to let him go if they bring Defoe on board.
Hull are not alone in registering an interest in Blackburn's Gestede, however, with West Brom already being previously linked with the striker by the Daily Mirror (as well as in the Mail's Hull report).
Tony Pulis is said to be unimpressed by both Georgios Samaras and Brown Ideye, with the new West Brom boss particularly inclined towards listening to offers for the former.
Gestede, whose tall build is reminiscent of the Peter Crouch type player Pulis worked with during his time at Stoke, is viewed as a potential replacement by the Welshman.
It remains to be seen whether any further transfer developments occur for the Blackburn striker, as no bids have yet been reported. Hull's interest could definitely be a spanner in the works for West Brom, though.
