He has been missed by the Liverpool team but the news surrounding the 25-year-old forward appears to be getting more and more positive with the forward back on the training field at Melwood.
The forward scored one goal on the opening day of the season in the win against Southampton, but has only played two other games this season.
Last season Sturridge scored 24 goals in all competitions and appeared to be the man who was going to spearhead the Liverpool attack this term, and a lack of goals earlier on in the campaign has shown how much he has been missed. But the Reds are starting to pick up a little bit of form meaning there is a little less pressure on Sturridge this term after a couple false dawns regarding his return.
A thigh injury picked up on international duty before further injuries to his calf and thigh kept him sidelined longer than anticipated, and he was sent to the United States for rehabilitation.
He seems to be completing the final stage of his rehab at Melwood on the training field. Below are a few pictures of the forward that fans can't wait to see back in a red shirt. There's plenty of work with the ball, but he's not back with the rest of the players just yet it seems, as the staff at the club are not prepared to rush him back just yet.
It has been mooted by manager Brendan Rodgers that he could return this month in several of his press calls. Here are a selection of the images of Sturridge during his training session at Melwood:
