Lucas Leiva tips Philippe Coutinho to become one of the best

In an interview with the LFC tv station, Lucas believes Coutinho could become one of the best players in world football.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Levia has hailed his fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho for what he brings to the side in an interview with the club's TV station on one of their programmes.

Coutinho has become one of the more integral figures in the Liverpool side over the past two seasons and has been tipped to achieve anything he wants to by his teammate, and has highlighted areas where he has improved.

He said: "He's got very quick feet and is very skillful. It is very hard to take the ball from him and that is another of his strengths.

"He has improved defensively with his aggression and pressing. He has added to his game.

"I think he can achieve anything that he wants to. He has the qualities and the potential to be one of the best players in the world.

"He is keen to learn and that is the beginning. By playing games, he will keep developing.

"He already is a top player, but I think he will only get better. He is now building his story in the national team for Brazil, which I know means a lot to him."

One criticism that people have of Coutinho is his end product. There are several occasions when he gets into goalscoring positions but fails to hit the target with his attempt, and that is certainly one aspect of his game that needs to improved upon this term.

He has found the net on two occasions so far this season and there is certainly a need for him to improve on that tally, having scored six times last season.

Undoubtedly there is a talented player in the 22-year-old but with the team firmly built around him at the moment, for him to go from a very good player to a top class player that Lucas thinks he can become, he needs to find the net on a more frequent basis.
