Deila update on transfer plans
Celtic will prioritise keeping their more important players over bringing in new additions in the January transfer window, according to Ronny Deila.
The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Kris Commons have both been linked with moves away from Parkhead by Sky Sports, but Deila appears determined to keep the pair.
“The most important thing is to keep our players," he insisted to the Daily Record. "Then if we get some players who can make us better we will do it.”
Bollan on Mackay-Steven
Former Dundee United man Gary Bollan says that Celtic target Gary Mackay-Steven is the best wide midfielder in the country.
Mackay-Steven is one of the Bhoys top transfer targets in the coming weeks, according to the Scotsman, and Bollan clearly feels he has the potential to do well at Parkhead.
"I don’t know if you will see a better wide player in the country than Mackay-Steven on his day," he said to the Courier. “He has pace and an abundance of skill."
Scepovic has high ambitions
Stefan Scepovic insists that Celtic are still aiming to secure the treble this season, despite a poor start.
The Bhoys are facing a fight to claim the league title, with Aberdeen currently top, but Scepovic still feels they can pull off their ambitious early season aims.
"We want to try everything to get the treble," he is quoted as saying by the Scottish Evening Times. "We just need to keep working as we are and getting better to put what the manager wants into the game."
