Ronny Deila has been speaking to reporters ahead of this weekend's game with Hamilton.

Celtic boss Ronny Deila has confirmed Kris Commons will not be leaving the club in January and that contract discussions are ongoing with the 31-year-old.

Deila has revealed - while speaking to reporters - that nothing has been decided yet but that progress is being made slowly for both camps.

However, the Norwegian insists Commons will stay with the club until the end of the current season.

Commons was a talisman for Celtic last term but has been used less frequently this campaign, with the 31-year-old's contract expiring in the summer.

In terms of incoming transfers, Deila confirmed Celtic's interest in 24-year-old Dundee United winger Gary Mackay-Steven.

The Norwegian says the Bhoys have been looking at him for some time and are hoping to sign a contract with him into the summer.

Meanwhile, defender Virgil van Dijk, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, will also be staying at Celtic this January, according to Deila.

The SPL champions face Hamilton Academical when they return to league action this weekend.
