Yorkshire media round-up: No Leonardo Pavoletti deal likely for Leeds

We bring you the latest news from Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United.

Pavoletti wants too much

Leeds United's attempts to sign Leonardo Pavoletti are being blocked because of his wage demands, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites are currently under a transfer embargo, meaning they are operating under financial constraints, and it seems they cannot stretch their budget enough to bring their top strike target to Elland Road.

Maghoma impressed by Baker

Lewis Baker has made a positive initial impression since joining up with him teammates at Sheffield Wednesday.

Baker, who arrived on loan from Chelsea, made his first appearance for the club in their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend, and he has already caught the eye of Jacques Maghoma.

“Lewis is very comfortable on the ball,” the in-form winger told the Sheffield Telegraph. “He’s a good, two footed player. I think he is going to be a great asset for us in the coming weeks and months.”

O'Grady wanted

The Sheffield Star reports that Sheffield United are hoping to sign Brighton and Hove Albion striker Chris O'Grady on a permanent deal in the near future.

O'Grady has already been on a short-term loan move to Bramall Lane this season and clearly did enough to convince Nigel Clough that he would be a good addition.
