Xbox One has won an Emmy award

Microsoft's flagship console has been recognised for its TV and media functions.

Microsoft's Xbox One console has won an Emmy award. The award is for the console itself, for its "industry-leading television-on-demand and media center capabilities."

Features like Xbox One's OneGuide helped the console to bag the award. OneGuide is a TV guide that shows you what is coming up on TV and allows you to pick what shows to watch, all whilst playing a game with the Xbox One's Snap feature .

The exact award given to the Xbox One is the Emmy Award for Television Enhancement Devices, which Microsoft announced over on the Xbox blog. The award was given during the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards last Thursday, during CES 2015 in Las Vegas.

The Previous winners of this award have been Apple, Roku, Sony, and TiVo.
