West Ham United defeated Everton in the FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday, but what did the Hammers players think of the match?

Some of West Ham United’s players have reacted on Twitter following the Hammers’ outstanding FA Cup victory against Everton last night.

The match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and 2-2 after extra-time meaning the two sides took part in a thrilling penalty shoot-out that ended 9-8 in favour of West Ham.

After a goalless first half the match burst into life in the second period, with Enner Valencia scoring for the hosts before Kevin Mirallas equalised eight minutes from time.

Romelu Lukaku put Everton ahead in the seventh minute of extra-time but Carlton Cole ensured the match went to those dreaded penalties.

To make the game even more thrilling, West Ham goalkeeper Adrian stepped up to convert the winning penalty after Everton stopper Joel Robles and forward Steven Naismith had missed their attempts.

After the match, a number of West Ham players took to Twitter to express their delight at the result, including Cheikhou Kouyate, Andy Carroll, Aaron Creswell and Adrian himself.
