Adrian's confidence in West Ham United's FA Cup triumph over Everton last night has been very well received by the club's supporters.
The Spanish goalkeeper was required to take the deciding penalty in the tie and he stepped up with aplomb to convert it and help his side into the next round.
Adrian took his gloves off and threw them to the floor, as if he were pre-empting the fact that they would no longer be of use, before slotting the ball to Joel Robles' right-hand side, sending the Boleyn Ground wild.
It was a fitting end to what had been a pulsating FA Cup encounter, which will go down as one of the finest ties in the competition in recent memory.
It had appeared that West Ham were set to cruise into the next round, when Enner Valencia had put them into the lead and Aiden McGeady received his marching orders.
However, Everton fought back admirably with 10 men and turned the match on its head thanks to strikes from Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku.
It set up a stunning climax and the drama of the night was not finished there, as Carlton Cole's close-range finish forced the match into penalties.
With nerves jangling, the shoot-out seemed to take an age to complete, but Adrian was the calmest man in the stadium when he stepped up to win it 9-8, and his display of defiance is sure to be remembered for some time by Hammers fans.
Here is the best reaction to the goalkeeper's display from West Ham supporters on Twitter.
As a keeper myself, will always have a soft spot for GKs, especially during penalties. So happy for Adrian today. What a boss. #whufc— Ryan (@villanry) January 14, 2015
Loved how Adrian ripped his gloves off. Threw them on the floor as if to say 'Yeah, this ends now'.— Lee B (@Lee_WHUFC) January 14, 2015
Most stressful game I've been to, Adrian is God. #whufc— Joe McClenaghan (@joe_mcclenaghan) January 14, 2015
