A Total War Center forums user has unearthed that The Creative Assembly and Sega’s are working on a Total War: Warhammer game.
The information, which comes ahead of an official announcement ,has been spotted in The Art of Total War artbook which is officially due to release later this month. In the book Creative Assembly’s creative director Mike Simpson goes into the next moves in the Total War franchise, in which an upcoming mobile game Total War: Kingdom also gets a mention alongside the Warhammer title.
“Multiplayer has never been Total War’s strong point in the past, and that’s something we’re looking to radically change with Total War: Arena,” writes Simpson. “For most strategy games, multiplayer is almost all of the experience, or, at the very least, a sizable chunk of it. We’re also experimenting with this in the mobile space, with Total War: Kingdom, and taking the series to a fantasy setting with Total War: Warhammer.”
Games Workshop initially signed a deal with The Creative Assembly to allow the developer rights to create multiple Warhammer universe Total War games back in 2012, so fans expecting the title have had quite a wait. Tim Heaton, director at Creative Assembly mentioned at the time that. ”We’ll be doing the Warhammer universe justice in a way that has never been attempted before.”
In the meantime, Total War fans can look forward to the officially announced Total War: Attila (pictured above) which is due to launch for PC on February 17th.
