Stevan Jovetic sends message to departing City teammate Matija Nastasic

Manchester City's Stevan Jovetic has wished his teammate Matija Nastasic good luck after he moved to Schalke on loan.

Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic has sent a farewell tweet to his Blues teammate Matija Nastasic following the news that the defender had agreed to a loan move to Germany.

As reported by the BBC earlier this week, Nastastic will join Bundesliga side Schalke until the end of the season, and the deal could be made permanent next summer if both sides agree.

For now the 21-year-old will simply be hoping to get his career back on track having rarely featured for City in recent times.

The Serbian international has not played for City’s first-team since the Community Shield back in the summer, despite making 20 appearances the previous season.

The presence of Vincent Kompany, the arrival of Eliaquim Mangala and the improved form of Martin Demichelis means Nastastic was not needed at the Etihad, but he has the talent to get things back on track swiftly at Schalke.

Jovetic took to Twitter following the news to post a series of pictures of the two players together along with the following message: “Brother I wish you all the best in new club. I’ll miss you.”

It remains to be seen if the two men will play together again, but only time will tell.
