One Spurs star who proved a point v Burnley, one who disappointed

Tottenham Hotspur won 4-2 in the FA Cup last night.

Hit: Benjamin Stambouli

Opinions are still mixed on Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli. On the whole, the 24-year-old Frenchman has hardly inspired since moving to White Hart Lane, showing flashes of quality but often falling short in midfield.

Against Crystal Palace last weekend, the Spurs man was careless and gave a penalty away recklessly - one that ultimately changed the game.

Against Burnley last night, however, things were better from Stambouli. On an occasion that lacked quality generally, the midfielder put in a good shift.

His pass for Tottenham's fourth goal, in particular, was superb. More displays like this will do Stambouli's first-team chances no harm.

Miss: Younes Kaboul

The same cannot be said, though, for centre-back Younes Kaboul.

The Tottenham defender put in another poor performance and many fans had suggested he looks like a man whose head is already in Besiktas (with the defender being linked with a move to the Turkish side recently by the Daily Mail).

What's more, Kaboul broke into an argument with Jan Vertonghen after some poor defending in the first half.

Spurs were 2-0 down at one point but, tellingly, the White Hart Lane faithful chanted 'super, super Jan' in response to the heated exchange...
