Tottenham Hotspur want to go on a long run in the FA Cup this season.
Mauricio Pochettino could name a weakened side for their third round fixture against Burnley tonight, but Dembele doesn't feel this is a sign that they are not taking the competition seriously.
“Everybody knows that this competition is very important, one of the most famous in the world. We want to do well in it and go as far as we can,” he said.
“Of course, it won’t be easy and we are still only at the first stage, but we have to be positive and aim high."
Tottenham have progressed well in the Europa League and the Capital One Cup this campaign and another lengthy cup run could be at a risk of harming the squad.
The fixture pile-up that would come if Tottenham are able to get through to the latter stages of the FA Cup would likely test the squad to the limit, but Dembele is clearly not concerned by fatigue.
Tottenham are scheduled to play eight times during the month of January, as they season hots up.
The winner of Tottenham's match against Burnley tonight will face Leicester City in the next round and that is a tie that both teams will feels is winnable.
