Gary Mackay-Steven wanted by Celtic
Celtic are hopeful of singing Gary Mackay-Steven on a pre-contract agreement from Dundee United, according to the Evening Telegraph.
Mackay-Steven, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is near the top of the Scottish champion's wishlist and the opportunity to sign him on a free transfer has been too good to turn down.
They face competition for his signature from League One side Sheffield United.
Leicester agree deal for Maloney
The Daily Mail report that Leicester City have agreed a £1 million fee with Wigan Athletic for the transfer of Celtic target Shaun Maloney.
The Scottish winger had been linked with the Bhoys for some time, but it appears that Leicester have beaten them to his signature.
Macleod not predicting result
Former Celtic midfielder Murdo MacLeod said that the side's upcoming old-firm clash with Rangers was too tough to call.
Although the Light Blues have been in poor form in the Scottish Championship, MacLeod feels that they could still beat his old side if the Bhoys are off their game.
"You would never put any money on these two when they meet because you never know what's going to happen in an Old Firm game," he told the Brechin Advertiser.
"It doesn't matter who is the team on form. Celtic are in the top league. They have played so well in some games but have been so ordinary in others. Celtic are so inconsistent."
