Manchester United's Angel Di Maria speaks about his new teammate Victor Valdes

Angel Di Maria for Argentina against Brazil

Angel Di Maria has been talking about Manchester United's latest senior addition Victor Valdes.

Manchester United's club-record signing Angel Di Maria has been speaking about the latest senior player to arrive at Old Trafford, Victor Valdes, in a comment published on United's Twitter feed.

The two men know each other well from their days in La Liga, when Di Maria's Real Madrid did battle with Valdes's Barcelona, but now the two players are on the same side, and the Argentine appears happy with that.

In quotes published by United's official Twitter account, the £59.7million signing said of Valdes, "It's good to have him here with David de Gea.  It's important for the team to have such great talent in goal."

Valdes signed on a free transfer earlier this month, agreeing an 18-month contract at Old Trafford, but it remains to be seen how much he will play given the presence of his young countryman De Gea.

The 24-year-old is enjoying a fantastic campaign at United and is now widely regarded as one of the best 'keepers in Europe, but until he puts pen to paper on a new deal - with his current one expiring in 2016 - doubts will remain regarding his long-term future.

As for Di Maria, he will be hoping to rediscover his best form after returning from injury.  Aside from a goal against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup, United fans have not seen the best of the Argentina international for quite some time now.
