Manchester City media round-up: Messi's admission over future, Toure on City's recruiting

A round up of news stories related to Manchester City this morning.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has admitted that he doesn’t know where he’ll be playing next year.

The Argentine has been linked with City after reported friction with Barca boss Luis Enrique and he made the comments at the ceremony for FIFA’s Ballon d’Or last night.

“I don't know where I'll be next year. I've always said I want to end my career at Barcelona but...nobody knows what the future holds,” he’s quoted by the Daily Mirror.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has praised the club over their pursuit of Wilfried Bony.

City have been tipped to complete a £30 million move for the Swansea City striker before the end of this month and Toure believes it’s a signing, which speaks volumes about City’s ambition.

“If you have the ambition to be at the top of the Premier League, you need to recruit great players and Bony is one of today's great players,” he’s quoted by ESPN.

The Stoke Sentinel claims Stoke City are ready to make a move to sign Edin Dzeko on loan from Manchester City.

Dzeko has been out of action since mid-December and City boss Manuel Pellegrini could approve the move, which would allow him to play games and maintain his fitness elsewhere.

Wilfried Bony’s arrival would give the club another attacking option should Dzeko leave.
