A round up of news stories related to Chelsea this morning.

The Irish Examiner has reported that Chelsea have the third highest wage bill in the Premier League.

Chelsea spent £190.5 million on salaries for the 2013/2014 season, which was bettered only by Manchester City in second and Manchester United in third.

Former Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou has suggested Wilfried Bony could give Manchester City the edge in the title race.

Recent reports claim City have agreed a deal in the region of £30 million for the attacking star.

“I think he's a very powerful striker and he knows how to score goals. I think he's going to add a lot of power for the team and a lot of goals,” he’s quoted by the Daily Star.

Chelsea defender Filipe Luis has stressed the need for the team to keep working in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Chelsea got back on track with a hard earned win in the Premier League game against Newcastle, which allowed them to re-establish a lead over Manchester City at the top of the table.

The Blues did drop points over the Christmas and New Year period, which saw Manchester City pull level in the title race.

“The Premier League is a difficult competition. We have to keep working,” he told the Chelsea website.
