Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to see more physicality
Arsenal thumped Stoke City 3-0 on Sunday, putting the nightmare of their 3-2 loss to the Potters in December behind them.
Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain told the official Arsenal website that the difference in the two games was that Arsene Wenger's men played with more physicality this time around, and wants to see the Gunners continue to play that way in certain games.
"Sometimes you have to roll your sleeves up, be physical and win the duels," he said. "I definitely think away at Stoke, we lacked that and that’s why we came out of that game with a loss. That’s always at the back of your mind."
"We need to take this approach in every game because once we match teams physically and defending-wise, it gives us a good chance. We know in our team we have got the quality going forward to cause damage. So it is always important to make sure we match teams physically and do the dirty stuff as well," added the former Southampton man.
Sanogo completes Palace loan
Having failed to play much for Arsenal this season, 21-year-old French striker Yaya Sanogo has joined Premier League rivals Crystal Palace on loan for the rest of the season, as reported here by the BBC.
New Palace manager Alan Pardew has been desperately seeking a new striker, and will now be hoping that former Auxerre youngster Sanogo can impress during his stay at Selhurst Park.
Akpom offered new contract?
Akpom, 19, has been with Arsenal since he was six, but with few first team opportunities available, the England Under-20 star has been linked with Borussia Dortmund, Feyenoord and FC Twente linked with him, as mentioned in the above Independent report.
However, in a bid to keep him in North London, the Gunners are allegedly offering up a new three-year contract to Akpom, keeping him tied to the club until 2018.
