After almost 2 years Rockband gets new DLC today

Rock Band 3

New tracks from Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, and Foo Fighters are available to be bought.

Harmonix, developers of the Rock Band games, are releasing new DLC for Rockband Blitz and Rock Band 3 today.

The developers have not released DLC for a Rock Band game in almost 2 years, but this new DLC will include tracks from artists Avenged Severfold, Arctic Monkeys, and Foo Fighters.

Harmonix had originally said in February 2013 that DLC support for the games would stop in April of that year, but yesterday they announced the new DLC listed below:

  • Arctic Monkeys – R U Mine?
  • Avenged Sevenfold – Shepherd Of Fire
  • Foo Fighters – Something From Nothing

GameSpot spoke to Harmonix PR manager Nick Chester about why the DLC was being released after such a long time.

"We had an exciting opportunity to add new content to the already-massive Rock Band library with a song from Arctic Monkeys--a band that's never been in a Rock Band title before!--as well as new music from fan favorites Avenged Sevenfold and Foo Fighters.

"We couldn't pass it up. Also, we wanted to see if we could still do it. Turns out we can. It's sort of like riding a bike," said Chester.

When asked whether more DLC tracks would be added to Rock Band, Chester respond with: ""Let's not get ahead of ourselves."
