Chelsea, Tottenham, Burnley, Sunderland and Aston Villa all feature.
A round-up of the developing stories as the transfer window progresses.
Chelsea want Ings
Chelsea are the latest club seeking to sign Danny Ings from Burnley, report The Star. It had been reported days earlier that Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur were planning to bid for the striker, by The Mail.
Ings is Burnley's top goalscorer this season with six goals, but is out of contract at the end of the season, leaving Burnley with a dilemma as to whether to cash in.
The forward is only 22-years-old, with the Star's report claiming Chelsea have sent scouts to watch him in action.
The Blues need a striker because Didier Drogba is their third choice behind Diego Costa and Loic Remy, and at 36-years-old his playing career nearing a close.
Juventus want Paulinho
Italian champions Juventus may move to sign Paulinho from Tottenham Hotspur, report The People. The midfielder has not started a single Premier League game this season, making just seven appearances in the division from the bench.
The paper write that the Italian champions are looking at a permanent move, rather than a loan deal.
Sunderland eye Defoe
Premier League side Sunderland are interested in signing former Spurs, West Ham and Portsmouth striker Jermain Defoe.
The former England international is contracted to FC Toronto, but The Mail report the Black Cats are considering a move.
Defoe is currently training at Spurs in order to stay fit during the MLS off-season. The paper claim Sunderland could attempt to part-exchange under-performing American international Jozy Altidore.
Villa close to Gil
Aston Villa are nearing a deal to sign midfielder Carles Gil from Valencia, report BT Sport via the Press Association.
The 22-year-old has made only two La Liga starts this season, and six substitute appearances. The report states Villa are attempting to close an agreement at under £4 million.
Despite his limited opportunities at Valencia, Gil has one goal and one assist this campaign to date.
