Southampton were faced with a game against third placed Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday, knowing that a win would allow them to leapfrog the Red Devils.
The Saints sat fourth before kick off, but few gave them a chance of beating a United side who have been impressive of late under Louis van Gaal.
However, Ronald Koeman led his side to a stunning 1-0 win over his nemesis van Gaal, with Dusan Tadic scoring the winning goal 20 minutes from time.
Southampton frustrated United time and time again, and when Tadic picked up the ball on the edge of the box in the 69th minute, he carved out a superb chance for Graziano Pelle.
The Italian only hit the post, but the ball cannoned straight back to Tadic, who rolled the ball into the net to give Southampton the lead - and what proved to be the win.
