Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal with former Fulham academy prospect Kanye Diedrick-Roberts.
According to the Daily Mail, who reported the story, the 15-year-old was released by the West London side because they already had three promising strikers for his age group. However, United believe the youngster has potential and have given him a contract.
The London-born attacker, who captain’s the Kingsdale Foundation School Under-16s, is likely to be looked at with a view to breaking into United’s U18 side, who look likely to miss out on the North Group U18 Premier League title.
The young Red Devils currently sit in 5th position, with 23 points from 14 games, 10 points behind leaders Middlesbrough.
Paul McGuinness side have looked solid at the back, having conceded less than anyone in the league, but have failed to find their form in front of goal and have only netted on 16 occasions – the second worst in the league.
The versatile attacker, who is said to be able to play upfront, on the wing and in midfield, will hopefully be able to improve the side and eclipse that record when he signs, on his first professional deal, in July ready for next season.
