Leeds United defender Stephen Warnock is on the verge of a move to Derby County, according to the latest reports.
Leeds United defender Stephen Warnock will undergo a medical at Derby County later this evening, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Warnock, who was expected to be a key player for the Whites in their bid for survival, has emerged as a surprise target for Derby and it seems a move could go through in rapid fashion.
Steve McClaren's side are on the hunt for players who can strengthen their push for the Championship title and it seems they have been impressed by Warnock's form this campaign.
The 33-year-old has been one of the positives from what has been a disheartening campaign for Leeds so far and his likely imminent departure will be very disappointing for fans of the Yorkshire club.
Although they have the promising Charlie Taylor ready to deputise, the loss of Warnock is a blow for a club who have experienced very little to cheer in recent times.
Leeds are only two points above the relegation zone and losing with Warnock's quality and knowhow could prove costly later in the season.
