Report: John Guidetti has big aim ahead of Rangers clash

The Celtic striker says he 'fancies three' goals against the Scottish Championship side.

Celtic striker John Guidetti is not short of confidence ahead of his side's Scottish League Cup semi-final against Rangers.

The Bhoys will face the Scottish Championship side in the last four of the cup on the first day of February, with Guidetti relishing the tie.

And he is far from nervous, with the Swedish striker saying he 'fancies' a hat-trick against Rangers.

Neither Ronny Deila's Celtic side nor Rangers are currently top of their respective leagues, although the Bhoys do have two games in hand over SPL leaders Aberdeen. Deila's squad, meanwhile, have been in Gran Canaria for a warm-weather training camp during their winter break.

Whether in Gran Canaria or Glasgow, however, Guidetti is always raring to go.

"I fancy [scoring] three [goals]. That is what I did against Ajax when I was with Feyenoord and that is the aim this time," the Celtic striker is quoted as saying by Scottish Daily Mail.

"The dream would be to score - but the most important thing is we win against Rangers. Big games are what I love the most. That is why I wake up in the morning."

The 22-year-old is on loan at Celtic from Manchester City this season but has been in talks with the SPL champions over a permanent deal.

Should he achieve his dream of scoring against Rangers, Guidetti is likely to only sore in the estimations of Celtic fans, who have taken quite a liking to the forward already.

The Hoops striker has suffered a dip in form of late, though, but will be hoping to get over his blip once the league campaign resumes.
