Report: Jamie Redknapp on why West Bromwich Albion won’t sell Saido Berahino

Jamie Redknapp believes that West Bromwich Albion will not sell Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur-linked Saido Berahino in the January transfer window.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has said that West Bromwich Albion will not sell Saido Berahino this month.

England Under-21 international Berahino has been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns in the January transfer window, with both Liverpool and Spurs reported to be interested in his services.

However, Redknapp believes that West Brom will not entertain the idea of losing the youngster and wrote in The Daily Mail: “Saido Berahino is in demand but Tony Pulis won’t want to let go of his only real match-winner.”

Berahino started the season brilliantly, but he then faded away. It is only in the past few games that the 21-year-old has started to score again and is gaining form.

West Brom are currently struggling for survival in the Premier League and need to hold onto their best players, including Berahino.

The Baggies are just two points above the relegation zone in 14th and must pick up points in the coming days in order to increase the gap between themselves and the bottom three.

A offer from Liverpool or Tottenham could be too tempting to reject for West Brom and Berahino himself may find it temping to play for a top-four chasing team, but the West Midlands club should do all they can to hold onto the striker until the end of the season.
