Former Leeds United and Chelsea midfielder Vinnie Jones has told The Sun that Steven Gerrard will enjoy life in the USA.
Liverpool captain Gerrard will leave the Merseyside outfit at the end of the season and will join Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy.
The 34-year-old has been at Liverpool his entire career and has established himself as one of the legends of the game.
Former Wales international Jones has welcomed Gerrard’s decision to move to the MLS and believes that he will enjoy life in the USA.
“Steven Gerrard will be walking into a beautiful, strange world when he arrives at LA Galaxy in July following his move from Liverpool,” the 50-year-old, who lives in the USA, told The Sun. “Beautiful because I am sure Stevie and his family will fall in love with almost every aspect of life out here.
"Strange because he will be able to melt into the background for the first time in years. It will be a huge pressure release for him.
"He will be walking down the street in La-La Land and immediately notice that no one is looking at him.”
Life in the USA will be different for Gerrard, but there will still be pressure on the Englishman. He will be joining a top MLS team expected to succeed, and given his past record, fans will want him to do it all over again.
Of course, the pace of the game in the USA is slower and it will help Gerrard’s ageing body, but the 2005 Champions League winner will have lots of expectations on his shoulder.
