Chelsea media round-up: Pundit makes Mourinho claim, defender pleased with weekend performance

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp claims Jose Mourinho is in panic.

Writing his weekly column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp has suggested Mourinho isn’t being clever by refusing to talk to the media.

“It’s so frustrating when he doesn’t come out and talk after games - He’s in a panic because he had a bit of a rough spell and saw an eight-point lead over Manchester City disappear,” wrote Redknapp for the Daily Mail.

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has played down reports suggesting he could leave the club.

The Argentina superstar has dismissed recent reports, which have claimed trouble between himself and Barca boss Luis Enrique.

“It's not good for people to look for rivalry between me and Luis Enrique because there isn't any. Don't throw s--- at us from outside because that will only do us harm,” Messi told Barca TV.

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has stressed the need for himself to continue playing well in the first team.

The young centre back made his first full Premier League start in the game against Newcastle over the weekend, replacing Gary Cahill.

“I'm very happy because it was my first start in the Premier League but I have to improve and we have to keep winning, but we won so for me that is the most important thing,” he told BT Sport.
