Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has made plenty of headlines in recent times regarding a potential move away from St Mary's. But this weekend the Frenchman gave another wonderful example of why Ronald Koeman will surely do everything in his power to keep him.
The 25-year-old was nothing short of outstanding against United, breaking up the hosts' play time and again and never letting their multi-million-pound squad rest.
The Southampton player had a passing accuracy of 95 per cent - not bad at any ground and even better at Old Trafford - while he won five interceptions, five ground duels and two aerial battles. He also made seven effective clearances (five with his feet and two with his head).
|Passing Accuracy||Interceptions Won||Duels Won||Aerials Won||Effective Clearances||Effective Headed Clearances||Mins Played|
In short, it is no surprise a number of top clubs have been linked with the Saints star and even less of a surprise that Southampton surely have no intention of selling him.
United huffed and puffed but they could not even get a shot on target on Sunday, and much of that was down to the efforts of the mercurial French midfielder who is looking more classy by the week.
