West Ham United continued their disappointing start to the New Year as they failed to win against Swansea City on Saturday.
The Hammers headed into the Premier League game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park in the third round of the FA Cup.
Sam Allardyce’s side had endured a disappointing time over the festive period, and it seems that they are still unable to get out of it.
London outfit West Ham took the lead at the Liberty Stadium two minutes before half time through Andy Carroll, but conceded the equaliser on 74 minutes when Mark Noble diverted Bafetimbi Gomis’s header into his own net.
West Ham did have chances and so did Swansea, but the two sides had to settle for a point apiece. The result leaves the Hammers seventh in the Premier League table with 33 points from 21 matches.
Winning against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium is never easy, and perhaps it is a sign of the times that there is disappointment for West Ham that they could not pick up all three points in Wales.
Allardyce’s team are still very much in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League, and the players remain optimistic of returning to winning ways soon.
Following the match, Carroll, Adrian and Diego Poyet all took to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the draw.
