West Brom's reported Demba Ba interest may have bad implications for Brown Ideye

West Brom

The 26-year-old faces an uncertain future at the Hawthorns if he continues to struggle for goals.

According to the Sunday People, West Brom are interested in bringing former Chelsea striker Demba Ba back to the Premier League.

And any potential move may please fans. Ba was not the most prolific of strikers during his time with the Blues - but he did enjoy prolific spells at Newcastle United.

He should certainly, at least in theory, provide more firepower than any of West Brom's current forwards - barring Saido Berahino, of course.

With Berahino continually linked with a move away from the Hawthorns, meanwhile, Tony Pulis would be wise to seek a replacement.

Either way, though, any interest in Ba may have negative implications for 26-year-old striker Brown Ideye.

The West Brom forward was slated by fans after yesterday's 1-0 win at Hull and has still scored just one Premier League goal since joining the Baggies in the summer.

Should Ba move to the Midlands, then, Pulis would surely have no problem partnering him up front with Berahino.

But, even if Ba ends up West Brom's main striker (should he make a move, of course), where would the incentive be to keep Ideye in the starting line-up? His woeful form is hardly sending out the right message during a month in which he could quite easily be replaced.
