Aston Villa could not get back to winning ways, nor find a way to goal, when they faced Leicester City on Saturday, with Paul Lambert's side going down 1-0 to the Foxes.
Somewhat surprising was the inclusion of Joe Cole in the visitors' starting line-up, the 33-year-old making only his sixth league appearance of the season and his first league start since a hamstring injury side-lined him for five matches.
Cole had played for Villa in their recent FA Cup third round tie against Blackpool but could he inspire his team to a much-needed victory against Leicester? The answer was no, but how did he fare in regards to his individual performance?
As you can see from the statistics below, Cole had a passing accuracy of 87 per cent while he touched the ball 63 times. However, his attacking contribution was minimal, with just eight forward passes played, one (off-target) shot and one key pass.

Cole was regarded as one of the best players of his generation when he first broke onto the scene, but it is fair to say things have not always gone according to plan since those heady days at West Ham United.
After his latest match we took to Twitter to see what Villa fans thought of Cole's performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:

Joe Cole's career was done when he left Chelsea, Cleverley is just awful, Agbonlahor has pace nothing else, Weimann is just Weimann #AVFC— Mr Joe (@Joe10Wilcock) January 1, 2015
No N'Zogbia and no Weimann. Joe Cole starting. For once, can't really argue with the starting XI. Let's see if they are any good...— Ian DW (@sportdw) January 10, 2015
If I had the choice between Joe Cole or that beach ball Sunderland scored against Liverpool with a few years back id take the beach ball— Jack Lewis (@Jack_Lewis_10) January 10, 2015
#AVFC Desperate for a creative midfielder or Joe Cole to role back the years. Also need to ditch Cleverley and play Grealish and N'zogbia— James Felipe (@Jfelipe1) January 11, 2015
