Video: Man United linked Nicolas Gaitan scores in Benfica win

The Argentina international confirmed his side’s win over Vitoria Guimaraes with the third goal for the Portuguese champions yesterday.

Benfica continued their strong start to 2015 with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Vitoria Guimaraes yesterday that maintained their lead over rivals Porto at the top of the Primeira Liga table.

Reported Manchester United target Nicolas Gaitan got on the scoresheet, netting his side’s third from close range as can be seen in the video below.

The Argentina international has started 15 of his team’s 16 league games this term, scoring four goals and dazzling the Estadio da Luz crowd with his shows of skill and pace on the wing.

Ahead of the January transfer window, The Daily Star claimed that Louis van Gaal’s men were running the rule over the former Boca Juniors attacker.

The Old Trafford club have acquired two Argentines in the form of Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo in recent times, as they look to fire themselves back into silverware contention.

Gaitan has been on Benfica’s books since 2010 and has won nine international caps for his country.
