Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli has assured the fans that the team are looking to make a “fresh start”.
North London outfit Tottenham suffered their second defeat in 10 Premier League games on Saturday, when they went down 2-1 to city-rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Spurs took the lead in the opening minutes of the second half through England Under-21 international striker Harry Kane, but then conceded twice.
Dwight Gayle equalised from a controversial penalty in the 69th minute, and Jason Puncheon stuck the winner 10 minutes from full time.
The defeat came as a bitter blow to Tottenham, who were expected to win on Saturday, but Belgium international Chadli has already starting planning another run of positive results.
“After the loss, we have to make things clear and make a fresh start, and that’s what we are going to do,” the 25-year-old told Tottenham’s official website.
Fans of Tottenham will certainly be delighted with Chadli’s determination to bounce back. Following the defeat to Palace, there have been some suggestions that perhaps Spurs are not top-four material, but the players seem keen on dismissing that notion.
Winning against a buoyant Palace side at Selhurst Park was not going to be easy, but Spurs did not help their cause by lacking the intensity and urgency in the final 20 minutes.
However, Spurs can only learn from their defeat. Given the quality they have, one can expect them to bounce back them in style.
