The agent of Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli will meet with the club and discuss his client’s future amid transfer speculation in Italy, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The striker only joined the Reds in the summer, trading the San Siro for Anfield in a deal reportedly worth around £16 million.
However, the gamble to bring him in as a Luis Suarez replacement has proven to be costly as the former Manchester City star has so far failed to fit in with Brendan Rodgers’s ethos at the club.
Balotelli has failed to find the net in the Premier League this season, causing Rodgers to relegate him to the bench with his last start coming at the beginning of November.
As a result, rumours of a swift exit in the January transfer window have emerged in the press in recent weeks prompting a meeting to be arranged by his agent Mino Raiola to discuss matters.
“Super Mario's agent will however meet with Liverpool on Tuesday to discuss his client's future: this summit should bring some clarity to Balotelli's short-term future,” Sky Sport Italia reports.
One club who have been linked with a move for Balotelli this month is Italian champions and current Serie A leaders Juventus.
The Turn-based outfit are actively looking to improve their squad and make a real assault on this season’s Champions League campaign, yet it appears a new striker isn’t on their agenda.
As reported by Sky Sports Italia, they have strongly denied the links to Balotelli and are instead eyeing a deal for another of Raiola’s clients, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
