Michael Owen predicts Arsenal v Stoke City

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen looks ahead to today’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium.

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes that Arsenal will concede against Stoke City in the Premier League today.

“Mark Hughes has lost all seven visits to Arsenal as a manager in the PL and the Gunners have won their last 12 home games against the Potters,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Everything leads to a comfortable home win but Stoke scored three times against the Gunners at the Britannia last month and I expect them to find the back of the Arsenal net on Sunday.”

As Owen suggests, Arsenal will be favourites to win at the Emirates Stadium, but there is every chance that they will concede.

The Gunners did not concede any goal against Hull City in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday, but the North London outfit let in two against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium on New Year’s Day.

Interestingly, Arsenal have conceded more goals than Stoke (25-24), and that shows that Arsene Wenger’s side have a lot to do to become defensively strong.

Nevertheless, the Gunners have a superb attackline led by the sensational Alexis Sanchez, who has scored 10 goals and created 51 chances in 19 Premier League appearances so far this season.

And that firepower could prove to be the difference against Stoke today.
