Supporters of the Premier League champions were left disappointed by the winger's display.
A large number of Manchester City fans were left disappointed by Jesus Navas's performance yesterday afternoon.
The 29-year-old produced a lively display at Everton as the Premier League champions drew 1-1 at Goodison Park. Lively, however, did not necessarily equate to effective - at least according to many supporters.
Fernandinho opened the scoring for Manchester City deep into the second half but Steven Naismith hit back just four minutes later as the Toffees battled to earn their second fight-back draw of the week.
For Everton, it was both an encouraging response and result. For Manchester City, though, even if Manuel Pellegrini insists a point at Goodison is always a good outcome, this was two points dropped in the title race.
Indeed, City are now back to trailing Chelsea in the hunt for first place and they were certainly tested by the Toffees in what was a pulsating league clash.
But many fans felt they could have left Everton with more had Navas brought more to the party. Common complaints were that the Spaniard's decision-making was particularly off and that he was unable to deliver many first-time crosses.
Navas has registered a number of assists so far this season but his direct style of place has always placed extra emphasis on the 29-year-old. Here's a selection of what fans made of his performance on Twitter...
Wish Navas would put the ball in the box 1st time sometimes!!, reads the game like Hart!! #mcfc

I will rue the day Navas costs City a big game by missing an easy chance or assist! Pace is 1 thing, being clinical is another @MCFC #mcfc

Tbh both are not good enough to play for a club like City"@MCFCTone: Who's more frustrating to watch, Jovetic or Navas...? #MCFC"

Negatives; Navas poor finishing & decision making again. Jovetic poor finishing. Letting another lead slip. #MCFC

Disappointing in the final third. Serge looked well off the pace when he came on. Terrible final ball from Navas as per. Frustrating. #MCFC

Could we please get Navas some shooting practice! Fantastic field work but his finish is terribly frustrating! #mcfc
