HITC's Weekend Playlist: Matt

Telltale Games Game of Thrones trailer screen 1

Matt will be starting an epic saga this weekend with Telltale's Game of Thrones.

So this week we are starting a new approach to the Weekend Playlist, each writing our own article on the games we are playing.

This weekend I will be starting a new game from Telltale Games that came out in December 2014, Game of Thrones Episode 1. I recently played Telltale's previous release, The Walking Dead Season 2, and was totally hooked. Game of Thrones follows the same concept as a point-and-click adventure, taking you through a story and forcing you into difficult choices which ultimately affect the outcome as well as your relationships with other characters.

Game of Thrones is of course based on on George R R Martin's Novel 'A Song of Fire and Ice'. As far as the television series is concerned, the game take the player from the end of Season 3 and the "Red Wedding" through to the start of Season 5.

The story revolves around the northern House of Forrester, rulers of the Ironwood, whose members, including the 5 playable characters, attempt to save their family and themselves after ending up on the losing side of the War of the Five Kings. The game also includes settings, characters and voice actors from the novels and TV series including;

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon).

I can't comment on the game as I haven't started playing yet but if it's half as good as The Walking Dead then I'll no doubt love it.

Below is the trailer for Episode 1.

Telltale's Game of Thrones Episode 1 is available now for Xbox One/360, Playstation 3/4, Windows, OS X, iOS and Android.
