Tottenham Hotspur's exciting young play-maker has been celebrating yet another personal achievement.
Tottenham Hotspur play-maker Christian Eriksen has reacted after being awarded Denmark’s Footballer of the Year award for the second successive campaign.
The 22-year-old has been brilliant for Spurs this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists to date. That follows his previous campaign which ended with 10 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
While Tottenham have struggled at times in the recent past, Eriksen has been a consistent ray of light and it is easy to forget he remains extremely young.
Such is his talent there is no reason he could not go on to win the prestigious award time and time again, and following the latest announcement the player took to Twitter to reveal his joy at yet another individual success.
“I would like to say thank you to all my colleagues for voting on me for the second time,” he wrote. “I’m honoured to be named footballer of the year.”
Eriksen could not help his Tottenham team avoid defeat when they faced Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, but there is no doubt the future looks very bright, for both the player and the side lucky enough to have him.
