Former Nottingham Forest star Grant Holt, currently on the books of Wigan Athletic, believes that Derby County will gain promotion to the Premier League.
Former Nottingham Forest and Norwich City striker Grant Holt has backed Derby County to gain promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old, who is currently on the books of Wigan Athletic, made the comments following Derby’s 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town away from home in the Championship on Saturday.
Chris Martin scored the only goal of the game at Portman Road in the 57th minute, as Ipswich’s 11-match unbeaten league run came to an end.
Derby are now second in the Championship table with 48 points from 25 matches, while Ipswich are a point behind in third.
Holt was impressed with both teams, but he seems to suggest that Derby are in a better position to win promotion.
I tell you what Mick Mc Carthy can get his teams into a very drilled organised team you can see why they are up there.

But Derby are probs the best in division I have seen on the counter attack and still think they will go up this year.

The top end of the Championship table looks very ‘congested’ at the moment and shows how competitive the second tier of English football really is.
Bournemouth are currently at the top of the standings on goal difference, while Middlesbrough in fourth are just four points behind.
