Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen has been voted the Danish Footballer of the Year 2014.
It is the second year in a row that Eriksen has been voted as the best Danish player, and it should not come as a surprise to anyone.
The youngster is one of the most talented creative players in the world and has been quite successful in the Premier League.
Eriksen moved to Tottenham from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2013 and adapted to English football with ease, scoring seven goals and creating 68 chances in 25 Premier League appearances last season.
The Dane has once again been important for Spurs this campaign, scoring seven goals and creating 45 chances in 21 league appearances so far.
Eriksen did not attend the ceremony this evening, though, as he was involved in Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The former Ajax star failed to spark in the London derby, as Palace staged a 2-1 comeback.
However, today’s disappointing performance should not undermine Eriksen’s achievement over the past 12 months.
He is an exceptional player.
