Suarez denies he did interview but confirms thoughts on Gerrard

The Barcelona forward has taken to Twitter following reports containing comments he is said to have made about Liverpool's Steven Gerrard.

Former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has denied doing an exclusive interview after quotes attributed to the player were published by the Mirror.

In the report, Suarez was quoted as saying, "There are a small number of players in the world that are irreplaceable, and Steven is one of them."

The Barcelona forward went on to reportedly say Gerrard is somebody he will always respect as a player and a person.

But the Uruguay international took to Twitter on Saturday to write the following:

"Regarding to the information that has come out this morning in the British media, I want to clarify that I have not done an exclusive interview."

However, Suarez went on to say, "Of course, my friend Steven Gerrard is irreplaceable in any team."

So it appears that while the former Liverpool player wants to make it clear he did not say something exclusively to a newspaper, he does feel a certain way about the Reds' skipper.

The two players developed a wonderful on-field relationship at Anfield during Suarez's time at the club, the forward netting 82 goals in 133 games for Liverpool.

Following the news that Gerrard will be leaving the club at the end of the season, there has been an outpouring of appreciation for the player from teammates past and present along with the great and the good of the game.

And it seems Suarez wants to get involved, while clarifying exactly where his comments have come from...his own Twitter feed.
