Spurs player ratings: Kane stars again but Stambouli and Walker struggle

Here's how Tottenham Hotspur's stars rated during a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Hugo Lloris - 7/10

Made good-quality saves yet again but was once more not helped by a shaky defence in front of him. Dwight Gayle's penalty was a good one and difficult to stop, while Jason Puncheon was left in acres of space to score the winner.

Kyle Walker - 5/10

Looked average at right-back - until Wilfried Zaha made him look well below par for the second goal. DeAndre Yedlin will be watching keenly.

Jan Veronghen - 6.5/10

Not a bad performance overall but needed to show more for the second goal.

Federico Fazio - 6/10

A less convincing performance from the Argentine than in recent weeks and Fazio was very culpable indeed for the second goal.

Danny Rose - 5/10

Struggled to cope with Jason Puncheon much like Walker did with Zaha in the closing stages. Rose impressed against Chelsea but the problem has always been his ability to do so consistently. Ben Davies is still the far superior left-back.

Benjamin Stambouli - 5/10

Worked hard but did not offer anywhere near enough in central midfield as Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb were sorely missed. Stambouli can feel hard done by for the penalty - but why was he making such a rash tackle in the box, anyway?

Mousa Dembele - 5/10

Didn't offer enough going forward and may have failed his audition in the starting XI.

Andros Townsend - 5/10

Another anonymous performer. After the highs of the 5-3 win against Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino has done himself a disservice with his team selection at Crystal Palace.

Christian Eriksen - 5.5/10

Showed some good touches in the final third but this was a bad game for the Dane.

Nacer Chadli - 7/10

Registered another assist as he linked up well with Harry Kane. At times, the duo looked the only interested Spurs players.

Harry Kane - 7.5/10

This was another superb performance from the Tottenham striker - but he received little help from his midfielders as the north London side seemed to give up a game they could very easily have not let slip.

Etienne Capoue - 6/10

Didn't change much after coming on with 20 minutes to go.

Roberto Soldado - 5/10

Similarly, the Spaniard showed plenty of energy but just doesn't have enough in him anymore to make any sort of impact when it matters.
