The Hammers will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League this afternoon when they take on Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
West Ham have struggled for points and results in recent weeks and have slipped down to seventh in the league table.
However, Owen believes that Sam Allardyce’s side will win today and has backed England international striker Carroll to be the difference.
“Andy Carroll missed the midweek game at Goodison but is likely to be back for the Irons at the Liberty Stadium this weekend,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“The Hammers have scored more headed goals than any other Club in the PL so far this season and Carroll could be the difference between the sides with Swansea having to do without Manchester City-bound Wilfried Bony who is on African Cup of Nations duty.”
Carroll has scored three goals and created nine chances in 10 Premier League appearances so far this season, while having a pass accuracy of 62% and a shot accuracy of 33%.
The former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker is likely to start today and will be determined to make the most of his aerial strengths.
The game at the Liberty Stadium is tough to call. Perhaps a single goal could decide the outcome.
