Liverpool made it five Premier League games without defeat after beating Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light earlier today.

Lazar Markovic has impressed on the right hand side of Brendan Rodgers' 3-4-3 system recently, and he was the star of the show as the Reds came through in a comfortable manner.

The win takes Liverpool to within four points of a top four place despite their poor season so far, and players took to Twitter after the game to celebrate.

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, centre back Mamadou Sakho, wing back Alberto Moreno, midfielder Lucas Leiva and injured striker Daniel Sturridge all posted messages to fans after the game.
