Kevin Nolan has been the subject of plenty of criticism lately.

The West Ham United midfielder was - by now infamously - lambasted by David Sullivan's son on Twitter during his side's FA Cup clash at Everton earlier this week.

Sullivan Junior apologised for his remarks, of course, but he was by no means on his own in criticising the midfielder's recent form.

In truth, many West Ham fans have questioned whether the 32-year-old still deserves a place in Sam Allardyce's side.

Nolan, however, has the perfect response in mind. The Hammers midfielder has scored 99 league goals in his career and his 100th would certainly be making a statement at Swansea City later today.

“The main thing for me is that I just want to put it to bed as quickly as possible,” the West Ham man is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.

“It is something that will mean something to me and it is a fantastic achievement for myself. I am delighted to be there but I don’t want it to niggle away at me and have the 100th goal that keeps eluding me.

“I am hoping to score the goal and get it out of the way.”

West Ham are four games without a win in all competitions going into their Premier League clash at Swansea, although the Hammers were almost victorious at Everton in the Cup (a late Romelu Lukaku equaliser denied them progression).
