Sunderland substitutes: Jones, Graham, Alvarez, Buckley, Mandron, Agnew, Mannone.

Liverpool travel up to the North East today, as they face Sunderland in the lunchtime kick-off.

Draw specialists Sunderland will be hoping to capitalise on Liverpool's poor season so far by beating the Reds today, which would pull the Black Cats clear of relegation trouble.

Gus Poyet's men are without centre back Sebastian Coates as he can't face parent club Liverpool, but whilst Lee Cattermole misses out with a groin injury.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are without in-form Adam Lallana due to a half injury, whilst Raheem Sterling will miss the game as he's been granted an extended break by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Former Sunderland loanee Fabio Borini starts against his former club, whilst Emre Can continues to play in defence as Rodgers persists with the 3-4-3 system.
